Can physical artifacts become an intuitive way to explore digital archives?

Table of Contents is a project that explores embedded technology in wooden tabletops capable of recognizing objects laid on their surface. Through the recognition of the physical content placed on the table, a collection of relevant digital content is automatically gathered from a vast archive and made accessible for users to explore.

Framed within the context of our production lab, this table enables visitors to dig deeper into Atelier Luma's experimentation with regional materials. By creating a permanent archive installation in Arles, this educational tool stimulates discovery, reflection and the dissemination of knowledge in whichever medium it may come.
